Vincent was an explorer of sorts. A cartographer of the stars. Earth was afraid of the world above them, but he knew deep down that couldn't be the case for everyone. After all, he didn't fear outer space. Maybe if he documented it all, they'd change their minds. And so he set off, to visit all the planets he could, and make an analysis. Was it safe? Habitable? Maybe it had an unstable atmosphere that could be fixed with science's modern advances? Every planet he visited, he documented. This quest started only a few months ago, and already he'd made some interesting discoveries.

[APPROACHING UNNAMED PLANET] Spat out the computer. He knew he was somewhere in the Flonax system. But he didn't really have a name for it. Maybe spending some time down there would help. He pressed a button to launch a probe, and within seconds a small device spat out of the ship and down to the surface below. Some time later, it came back with a report: The planet was apparently home to water! And even grass! And the atmosphere was stable enough, but... the little oxygen on it was too thin to support human life.

Vincent leaned back in his pilot's seat, thinking to himself. He could document it as-is and fly off to another planet, but this one intrigued him.
"So it does support oxygen..." He thought, to nobody in particular. "So something's generating it. I should probably head down there and check it out..." At that, he manned the controls, flying the ship down to the planet's suface. Following the strongest source of oxygen, he landed the ship in a clearing, with a large, alien tree nearby. Heading to the airlock, he donned a suit, and stepped into the world around him.

Oddly enough, the area seemed like a grassy plain of Earth. Well, except the grass was purple. And the water was green. That wasn't as important; it was all the same substance. The tree wasn't far off. Situated at the top of a hill, Vincent took note of its teal-colored bark and hot pink...
"Are those leaves? They look more like bulbs..." He said, but not long after, his helmet pinged.
[STABLE OXYGEN DETECTED. SWITCHING OFF FILTER FOR POWER PRESERVATION.]
There was a click, and the half-fresh air around him started to pour into his lungs. It wasn't all that special. Maybe a little thin compared to earth's air. But it had this... sweet scent about it. Seeing no reason to keep it on for now, he slipped off his helmet.
"Maybe I could rest here a bit..." He said, laying back against the tree, letting that sweet scent permeate his lungs. It was a pleasant experience. And one of the most relaxing spots he's found in all his career.

He took a huge whiff of the air around him, and to his surprise, his exhalation left a... pink cloud behind. Like warm breath on a cold winter day. But he didn't really care about that. After all, when is he going to find somewhere so relaxing? He kept breathing in the fresh air around him, and the scent it had seemed to spread through his body, filling him with energy... calming him.
But that wasn't all.
Perhaps the reason he didn't feel like moving - his body was going numb; not in a paralysis sort of way, but just enough so that he didn't feel like moving. Or more specifically, just enough so that he couldn't feel what was happening to him.
His legs started feeling especially weak. If he wasn't already sitting, he probably wouldn't want to keep standing. But with the slight numbness, he didn't really mind the sensation. Oddly enough, his suit felt a bit tight. Especially in the legs. But he didn't notice that much... at least, until...

TTTSSSSHHHTCH!
His spacesuit tore in the front, letting out a loud ripping sound, as... breasts grew from his chest. Large ones. And they were still growing.
"Whu-...?" He, now more of a she, sat up, noticing her rear also felt a bit more cushy and soft. Of course, it got the same treatment as up front.

CCCHRRRRRRIIITCH!
Her leggings split into pieces. While her hips were quite gorgeous and wide, that wasn't the most shocking thing. In place of her legs, there were now dark gray tendrils. At least, that's all she could see before her view of them was blocked by enormous, light pink... petals? Looking down, she saw her skin getting darker, changing hue... until it was a dark teal color. She almost wanted to hold her arm over her chest in an attempt to preserve her decency. But as if by magic, more dark gray fiber formed over her chest-mounds and crotch. It was certainly skimpy, but at least it was covering something. The same stuff also formed over her hands, as a sort of natural gloves. Her short brown hair grew longer and longer, down to her waist in back, nearly covering her eyes in front. It also changed its color to the same light pink as her other foliage. And finally, she felt a flower grow in her hair, as well as her ears growing out, pointing at the tips.

"What..." She started to say, shocked at her sultrier voice. "How did-" She continued, but something felt off. Yeah! The planet! It's in such bad shape! Nobody will ever live here without sufficient oxygen! She slid down the side of the hill, crawling along the ground with her weak roots until she was in the center of a clearing. She took root, and relaxed, beginning to do her job. Producing oxygen, loaded with that lovely scent. Just like she always had been. And always will be.
Here's a story I've had in the works for a while! Oddly enough I got the inspiration from watching Vinny play Subnautica. Not too much to say on this, just happy to finally write another TF story. :D
More soon! I've got a gift or two stormin' up my brain...
